Short-Term Running Goals: I'm running Boston in less than 3 weeks and can't wait. I'm doing it just for fun, not for time. I've talked to too many people who have ran it who've told me to enjoy the experience, enjoy the scenery, enjoy the masses of people, the course, the architecture, everything, so that's my plan. I'll be running with a camera in my hand. Beyond that I'm the Captain for the Moab Redrock Relay and the WB Ragnar Relay this year. I'll be running St. George again this year with a good friend. She and I trained for my first marathon together. She recently had a baby and wants to do St. George together again. St. George wasn't originally in my plans for this year, but it is now!! **smile** The only other BIG run I have tentatively planned is a half sometime between now in the year where I am hoping to qualify for NY next year. I'll need to average 8 min/miles for the 13.1 which is a stretch for me. I'm working toward it. I averaged 8:30 at TOU for Boston, but 8 is still more difficult. I can do 6-8 at that pace - just don't know if I can do it for 13.1. Just need to qualify at a downhill event I'm thinking. **smile**
Long-Term Running Goals: Next year I'd like to run the New York marathon. Other than that just playing it by ear. I don't believe I'll do ultras. 26.2 feels good to me. Longer than that and my head can't grasp it yet. Three years ago there's no way I would have believed I'd be running marathons. I was 170 pounds back then and in miserable embarrassingly much larger shape. :)
Personal: I've been happily married for almost 20 years (in September), and have two amazing boys - one is 9 1/2 and the other is almost 2. Other than running I love weigh training and competing in Figure. Last December I published my first cookbook, "75 Ways to Love Your Oatmeal - Great Tasting Recipes that Keep You Lean".
I love my life and am so thankful the blessings I've received - especially since I've gotten my life back on track. I used to be the laziest least healthy person you'd ever met. In my 30s I gave up on me. I grew used to bad habits, poor eating, little to no exercise. I worried about it but did nothing to improve. It wasn't until I was almost 38 that I decided to make a change. ...and now I am sooo glad I did. No regrets. My Personal Links: I am not sure how to get the links to activate, so I am just listing them here and you can copy and paste. **smile** Help?
